A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Thirty-fifth REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $67,001,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2021-2022 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the thirty-fifth representative district, as follows:
1. Lehua elementary school, Oahu
Land, construction, and equipment for new administration and library building.
Land $1,000
Construction $10,000,000
Equipment $200,000
Total funding $10,201,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
2. Pearl City elementary school, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for campus-wide electrical upgrade.
Plans $60,000
Design $75,000
Construction $2,365,000
Total funding $2,500,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
3. Pearl City high school, Oahu
Design, construction, and equipment for bleacher replacement.
Design $100,000
Construction $250,000
Equipment $600,000
Total funding $950,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
4. Pearl City high school, Oahu
Design, construction, and equipment for medical classroom renovation.
Design $100,000
Construction $1,000,000
Equipment $500,000
Total funding $1,600,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
5. Pearl City high school, Oahu
Design and construction for tennis court resurfacing.
Design $50,000
Construction $600,000
Total funding $650,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
6. Pearl City high school, Oahu
Design, construction, and equipment for construction of an outdoor stage and gathering area.
Design $50,000
Construction $175,000
Equipment $25,000
Total funding $250,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
7. Waipahu high school, Oahu
Construction for phase two of a new integrated academic classroom building.
Construction $20,000,000
Total funding $20,000,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
8. Waipahu high school, Oahu
Construction for new portables for department of education's adult education administration offices.
Construction $3,000,000
Total funding $3,000,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
9. Waipahu high school, Oahu
Design and construction for re-keying of all locks on exterior doors throughout campus.
Design $75,000
Construction $275,000
Total funding $350,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
10. Waipahu high school, Oahu
Construction for phase two of campus-wide exterior painting of buildings.
Construction $500,000
Total funding $500,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
11. Waipahu intermediate school, Oahu
Construction for completion of DREAMS building.
Construction $27,000,000
Total funding $27,000,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2024, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2021.
