A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to grants.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 42F-103, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (c) to read as follows:
"(c)
Further, a grant may be awarded to a nonprofit organization only if the
organization:
(1) Has
been determined and designated to be a nonprofit organization by the Internal
Revenue Service; and
(2) Has
a governing board [whose]:
(A) Whose members have no material
conflict of interest and serve without compensation[.]; and
(B) In which no member is an existing member of the legislature."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
