A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to government operations.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 612-2, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:
"§612-2 Prohibition of discrimination[.];
jury service. A person who is a citizen of the State and the
United States, shall not be excluded from jury service in this State on
account of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, economic status, or
physical disability, except as provided in section 612-4(b)(1)."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
