A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO COLLEGE PLACEMENT EXAMINATION FEES.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $1 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2018-2019 for the payment of SAT or ACT registration fees for eligible students; provided that for purposes of this Act, "eligible student" means:

     (1)  A public school student in the twelfth grade, who has not previously taken the SAT or ACT; or

     (2)  A public charter school student in the eleventh or twelfth grade, who has not taken the SAT or ACT.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this section.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.
