A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 304A-401, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (b) to read as follows:

     "(b)  The board may also charge other fees for special programs of instruction, as well as laboratory fees, course fees, fees for student activities, and an information technology user fee[.]; provided that the board shall not charge any fees for services that are not available to students at the time the fees are charged.  The board may charge other fees for summer session or evening courses, including differential fees for nonresident students."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
