A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO FIREWORKS.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 132D, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§132D‑    Requirements for shippers.  A shipper that transports within the State aerial devices, articles pyrotechnic, consumer fireworks, display fireworks, or fireworks shall notify the fire chief of the county in which the shipment is to be distributed.  This section applies to a shipment from pier to pier, pier to warehouse or storage facility, or pier to distribution.

     As used in this section, "shipper" means an entity or person that is hired for transport of aerial devices, articles pyrotechnic, consumer fireworks, display fireworks, or fireworks."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.


     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
