A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF LAND AND NATURAL RESOURCES.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The legislature finds that the department of land and natural resources possesses an aging fleet of vehicles necessary for the navigation of difficult terrain, particularly in areas such as Hana in Maui county. These vehicles are essential for the department of land and natural resources to perform its duties safely and efficiently in areas with difficult terrain.
The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds to the department of land and natural resources for the purchase of new vehicles.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2022-2023 for the department of land and natural resources division of state parks, Maui parks section to purchase the following vehicles:
(1) Five utility vehicles of production models 2020 or later;
(2) Three pickup trucks of production models 2020 or later; and
(3) One one-half ton pickup truck of a production model 2020 or later.
The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.
