A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE EIGHTEENTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2010-2011:
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. August Ahrens elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction for heat abatement improvements; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

B. Honowai elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction of walls (room dividers) to separate the classrooms, H1/H2, H3/H4, H5/H6, G1/G2, G3/G4, L1/L2, and J1/J2, with a permanent barrier and the design, construction, and installation of two solar exhaust ventilators in each of the rooms to assist in the ventilation.

Construction for improvements at Hawaii's Plantation Village. Project qualifies as a grant, pursuant to chapter 42F, HRS.

3. To be expended by the department of labor and industrial relations:
A. Waipahu United Church of Christ, Oahu
Design and construction for improvements for a community center. Project qualifies as a grant, pursuant to chapter 42F, HRS.

4. To be expended by the department of transportation:
A. Drying bed facilities, Oahu
Construction of drying bed facilities for the processing and disposal of highway debris collected by maintenance operations.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2010.
