A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO THE HAWAII GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE AUTHORITY.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 196-63, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:

     "[[]§196-63[]]  Hawaii green infrastructure authority.  There is established the Hawaii green infrastructure authority as an instrumentality of the State comprising [five] seven members.  The director, the director of finance, and the [energy program administrator of the department] director of commerce and consumer affairs shall be members of the authority.  The governor shall appoint the other [two] four members, pursuant to section 26-34[.], provided that two of the members appointed by the governor have a demonstrated expertise in public finance or economics and two of the members appointed by the governor have a demonstrated expertise in clean energy.  The director shall be the chairperson of the authority.  The authority shall be placed within the department for administrative purposes, pursuant to section 26-35; provided that until the authority is duly constituted, the department may exercise all powers reserved to the authority and shall perform all responsibilities of the authority."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
