A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Act 151, Session Laws of Hawaii 2019, is amended by amending subsection (c) of section 2 to read as follows:
"(c) The department of agriculture shall submit the
strategic plan, including proposed strategies, benchmarks, metrics, and any proposed
legislation, to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening
of the regular session of [2020.] 2021."
SECTION 2. Act 151, Session Laws of Hawaii 2019, is amended by amending section 3 to read as follows:
"SECTION
3. There is appropriated out of the agricultural
development and food security special fund the sum of $100,000 or so much thereof
as may be necessary for fiscal year 2019-2020 for the purpose of developing a strategic
plan outlining strategies, benchmarks, and metrics to achieve the goal of doubling
food production in, and increasing food exports out of, the State by 2030[.];
provided that moneys appropriated by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the
fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided further that all moneys
not expended or encumbered by June 30, 2021, shall lapse as of that date."
SECTION 3. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.
