A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE LEIALII WATER SOURCE.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The following sums or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the project listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2009-2010.

     Design and construction of an exploratory well for a Leialii Water Source in Honokowai, Maui and development of the exploratory well into a production well to serve as a potable water source for state projects in the Villages of Leialii and surrounding area.

Design                       $   800,000

Construction                 $ 3,000,000

Equipment                    $ 1,000,000

Total funding                              $ 4,800,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the capital project set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of Hawaiian home lands for the purposes of this Act.

 

     SECTION 3.  The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2012, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2009.
