A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE fourteenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $15,142,500 or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2015-2016 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the fourteenth senatorial district, as follows:

1.   Dole middle school

     A.   Update technology infrastructure.

          Labor                          $76,621

          Construction                  $139,087

          Equipment                      $20,792

          Total funding                                $236,500

2.   Mayor Joseph Fern elementary school

     A.   Construct covered walkway between buildings B and I to the library and cafeteria.

          Total funding                                $100,000

     B.   Construct 6-foot high fence from building B to the side of the cafeteria.

          Total funding                                 $36,000

3.   Kalihi Uka elementary school

     A.   Install ceiling fans in classrooms.

          Plans                           $5,000

          Electrical and installation    $10,000

          Equipment                       $5,000

          Total funding                                 $20,000

4.   Aiea intermediate school

     A.   Design, construction, and equipment for band room expansion; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                        $475,000

          Construction                $1,500,000

          Equipment                      $25,000

          Total funding                              $2,000,000

     B.   Design, construction, and equipment for an applied technology center; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                        $500,000

          Construction                $2,900,000

          Equipment                     $100,000

          Total funding                              $3,500,000

5.   Webling elementary school

     A.   Design and construction for campus-wide electrical upgrade; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                        $250,000

          Construction                $1,500,000

          Total funding                              $1,750,000

     B.   Design, construction, and equipment for new and/or expansion of support facilities; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                        $800,000

          Construction                $6,650,000

          Equipment                      $50,000

          Total funding                              $7,500,000

     SECTION 2.  The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriations are made; provided that all moneys from the appropriations that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2018, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 3.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the appropriate expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2015.
