TWENTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE, 2015
STATE OF HAWAII

A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE nineteenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 

     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $53,205,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2015-2016 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the nineteenth senatorial district, as follows:

1.   James Campbell High School, Oahu

     A.   Design and construction for campus wide heat abatement; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                        $800,000

          Construction               $12,200,000

          Total funding                             $13,000,000

2.   Ewa Beach Elementary School, Oahu

     A.   Design and construction for heat abatement in all classrooms; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                        $400,000

          Construction                 4,600,000

          Total funding                              $5,000,000

3.   Ewa Makai Middle School, Oahu

     A.   Design and construction for shade covering for the classroom courtyard; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                        $150,000

          Construction                  $650,000

          Total funding                                $800,000

     B.   Design and construction for improvements to the amphitheater and entry areas including floor drains; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                         $50,000

          Construction                  $200,000

4.   Ilima Intermediate School, Oahu

     A.   Design and construction for air conditioning for campus wide heat abatement; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                        $500,000

     B.   Design and construction, and equipment for a new and/or addition/renovation to administration building; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

5.   Iroquois Point Elementary School, Oahu

     A.   Design and construction of Fire Lane from Building H to Building F and as needed for fire hydrant access; equipment and appurtenances.

     B.   Design and construction for replacement of air conditioning units at various buildings; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                        $125,000

     C.   Design and construction to surface second grade playground; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                         $10,000

          Construction                   $70,000

          Total funding                                 $80,000

6.   Kaimiloa Elementary School, Oahu

     A.   Design and construction campus wide heat abatement; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                        $470,000

          Construction                $4,980,000

          Total funding                              $5,450,000

7.   Keoneula Elementary School, Oahu

     A.   Design and construction for a classroom building; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                        $900,000

          Construction                $9,500,000

          Equipment                     $100,000

          Total funding                             $10,500,000

     SECTION 2.  The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriations are made; provided that all moneys from the appropriations that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2018, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 3.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the appropriate expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2015.
