SENATE RESOLUTION
requesting the department of business, economic development, and tourism and department of accounting and general services to conduct a cost analysis STUDY OF consolidating west hawaii state offices into a single conveniently located COMPLEX.
WHEREAS, there are various state offices operating in various locations in west Hawai‘i island; and
WHEREAS, state offices not dependent on location can be consolidated in one convenient area at a single location for purposes of cost effectiveness and efficiency; and
WHEREAS, the consolidation of state services in a single central location will improve services; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Thirty-first Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2021, that the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism and Department of Accounting and General Services are requested to conduct a cost analysis study regarding centralizing and consolidating the state offices in west Hawai‘i island into one conveniently located complex; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism and Department of Accounting and General Services are requested to submit a report of their findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2022; and
BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED that certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the Governor; Director
of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism; and Comptroller.
