Section
1.
REPEAL.
Section
8A.318,
Code
2011,
is
repealed.

Sec.
2.
EFFECTIVE
UPON
ENACTMENT.
This
Act,
being
deemed
of
2
immediate
importance,
takes
effect
upon
enactment.

EXPLANATION
4
This
bill
repeals
Code
section
8A.318,
which
established
5
a
policy
requiring
state
agencies
utilizing
state
buildings,
6
and
school
districts,
community
colleges,
and
institutions
7
under
the
control
of
the
state
board
of
regents
to
conduct
8
an
evaluation
and
assessment
regarding
implementation
of
an
9
environmentally
preferable
cleaning
policy.
Pursuant
to
the
10
Code
section,
state
agencies
utilizing
public
buildings,
and
11
school
districts,
community
colleges,
and
institutions
under
12
the
control
of
the
state
board
of
regents
that
did
not
opt
out
13
of
compliance
with
the
policy,
are
currently
required
on
or
14
after
July
1,
2012,
to
purchase
and
utilize
only
cleaning
and
15
maintenance
products
identified
by
the
department
of
education
16
or
that
meet
nationally
recognized
standards.
17
The
bill
takes
effect
upon
enactment.
