  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  148C.5  Complaints and reports
  1  2 received by the board.
  1  3    The board shall submit a copy of all complaints and reports
  1  4 received by the board regarding the practice or conduct of a
  1  5 physician assistant to the board of medicine within fourteen
  1  6 days of receipt of the complaint or report for the purpose of
  1  7 evaluating whether the supervising physician satisfactorily met
  1  8 minimum standards for supervision.
  1  9    Sec. 2.  REPEAL.  2015 Iowa Acts, chapter 137, section 113,
  1 10 is repealed.
  1 11                           EXPLANATION
  1 12 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1 13 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1 14    This bill requires the board of physician assistants to
  1 15 submit a copy of all complaints and reports the board receives
  1 16 regarding the practice or conduct of a physician assistant
  1 17 to the board of medicine within 14 days of receipt of the
  1 18 complaint or report for the purpose of evaluating whether a
  1 19 physician assistant's supervising physician satisfactorily met
  1 20 minimum standards for supervision.
  1 21    The bill also repeals a requirement that the boards of
  1 22 physician assistants and medicine jointly adopt rules pursuant
  1 23 to Code chapter 17A to establish specific minimum standards
  1 24 or a definition of supervision for appropriate supervision of
  1 25 physician assistants by physicians.
