1.
Section
915.94,
subsection
1,
unnumbered
1
paragraph
1,
Code
2024,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

A
victim
compensation
fund
is
established
as
a
separate
fund

in
the
state
treasury.
Moneys
deposited
in
the
fund
shall
be
4
administered
by
the
department
and
dedicated
to
and
used
are
5
appropriated
to
the
department
for
the
purposes
of
section
6
915.41
and
this
subchapter
.
In
addition,
the
department
may
7
use
moneys
from
the
fund
are
appropriated
to
the
department
for
8
any
of
the
following
purposes:

Sec.
2.
Section
915.94,
subsection
1,
Code
2024,
is
amended
10
by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:

NEW
PARAGRAPH
.
f.
The
provision
or
reimbursement
of
a
12
victim
of
sexual
assault
for
emergency
contraception
or
other
13
health
care
treatment.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
16
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
provides
that
moneys
in
the
victim
compensation
18
fund
are
appropriated
to
the
department
of
justice
for
the
19
provision
or
reimbursement
of
a
victim
of
sexual
assault
for
20
emergency
contraception
or
other
health
care
treatment,
among
21
other
purposes
set
forth
under
current
law.
