1.
STUDY
——
PUBLIC
FINANCING
OF
ELECTIONS
IN

IOWA.
The
executive
director
of
the
ethics
and
campaign

disclosure
board,
in
consultation
with
the
board,
shall
do
all
3
of
the
following:

1.
Study
the
level
of
public
and
other
stakeholder
support
5
for
public
financing
of
state
and
local
elections
in
Iowa.
6
2.
Investigate
and
report
on
the
implementation
of
public
7
financing
in
other
jurisdictions.
8
3.
Make
recommendations
to
the
general
assembly
and
the
9
governor
regarding
the
feasibility
of
public
financing.
10
4.
If
feasible,
recommend
appropriate
legislation.

EXPLANATION

This
bill
requires
the
executive
director
of
the
ethics
and
13
campaign
disclosure
board,
in
consultation
with
the
board,
to
14
conduct
a
study
relating
to
the
feasibility
of
public
financing
15
of
elections
in
Iowa,
and
to
make
a
report
containing
findings
16
and
recommendations
to
the
general
assembly
and
the
governor.
