1.
The
department
of
health
and
human
services
shall
3
establish
a
process
and
criteria
by
which
an
individual
who
4
does
not
qualify
for
the
state
child
care
assistance
program
5
established
in
section
237A.13
may
be
reimbursed
by
the
6
department
for
the
number
of
hours
of
paid
employment
the
7
individual
missed
to
provide
care
to
the
individual’s
child
who
8
had
a
temporary
health
condition
that
prevented
the
child
from
9
attending
the
child
care
facility
or
child
care
home
the
child
10
normally
attends.

2.
An
individual
shall
only
be
eligible
for
reimbursement
if
12
the
child
care
facility
or
child
care
home
the
child
normally
13
attends
is
licensed
or
registered
with
the
department
pursuant
14
to
chapter
237A.

3.
For
purposes
of
this
section,
“child”,
“child
care
16
facility”,
and
“child
care
home”
mean
the
same
as
defined
in
17
chapter
237A.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requires
the
department
of
health
and
human

services
(HHS)
to
establish
a
process
and
criteria
by
which
23
an
individual
who
does
not

for
the
state
child
care

assistance
program
may
be
reimbursed
by
HHS
for
the

of

of

the
individual
