Section
1.
NEW
SECTION
.
321.361A
Publicly
owned
1
park-and-ride
lots.
2
A
person
shall
not
park
a
motor
vehicle
displaying
an
3
advertisement
for
the
sale
of
the
vehicle
at
any
time
between
4
midnight
and
5:00
a.m.
in
a
park-and-ride
lot
owned
by
the
5
state
or
a
political
subdivision
of
the
state,
including
6
a
regional
transit
system.
For
purposes
of
this
section,
7
“park-and-ride
lot”
means
a
parking
lot
designed
to
allow
8
persons
to
reach
a
destination
by
leaving
their
motor
vehicle
9
at
the
parking
lot
and
utilizing
public
transportation,
car
10
pools,
or
van
pools.
A
person
convicted
of
a
violation
of
11
this
section
is
guilty
of
a
simple
misdemeanor
punishable
as
12
a
scheduled
violation
under
section
805.8A,
subsection
1,
13
paragraph
“d”
,
and
each
day
that
a
continuing
violation
occurs
14
may
be
considered
a
separate
offense.

Sec.
2.
Section
805.8A,
subsection
1,
Code
2020,
is
amended
16
by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:

PARAGRAPH
.
d.
For
violations
under
section
321.361A,
18
the
scheduled
fine
is
fifty
dollars.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
prohibits
the
parking
of
motor
vehicles
displaying
23
an
advertisement
for
the
sale
of
the
vehicle
in
a
park-and-ride
24
lot
owned
by
the
state
or
a
political
subdivision
of
the
25
state,
including
a
regional
transit
system,
at
any
time
26
between
midnight
and
5:00
a.m.
The
bill
defines
the
term
27
“park-and-ride
lot”.
A
violation
of
the
bill
is
punishable
28
by
a
scheduled
fine
of
$50
and
each
day
that
a
continuing
29
violation
occurs
may
be
considered
a
separate
offense.
