Code
2011,
is

amended
by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:

A
restriction
prohibiting
an
individual

licensed
as
a
foster
family
home
from
also
providing
child

care,
as
defined
in
section
237A.1,
in
the
foster
family
home.

EXPLANATION

This
bill
prohibits
licensed
family
foster
home
providers
7
from
also
providing
child
care
in
the
foster
family
home.

Under
Code
section
237A.1,
“child
care”
means
the
care,
9
supervision,
and
guidance
of
a
child
by
a
person
other
than
the
10
child’s
parent,
guardian,
or
custodian
for
periods
of
less
than
11
24
hours
per
day
per
child
on
a
regular
basis,
but
does
not
12
include
care,
supervision,
and
guidance
of
a
child
by
a
list
13
of
exceptions.

The
bill
places
the
restriction
in
Code
section
237.3,
15
relating
to
the
rules
adopted
by
the
department
for
individual
16
family
and
group
foster
care
providers.
