ENACTED
BY
THE
GENERAL
ASSEMBLY
OF
THE
STATE

IOWA:

Section
1.
Section
152.1,
subsection
7,
Code
2022,
is
amended
by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:

PARAGRAPH

g.
Under
a
pharmacist’s
order
and
consistent
with
this
subsection,
assist
in
the
administration
of
immunizations
and
vaccinations
and
the
utilization
of
statewide
protocols
pursuant
to
section
155A.33B.
Sec.
2.
NEW
SECTION
.
155A.33B
Registered
nurses
——
vaccinations
and
immunizations.
A
registered
nurse
licensed
pursuant
to
chapter
152
or
152E
shall
be
authorized
to
assist
in
the
administration
of
immunizations
and
vaccinations
and
the
utilization
of
statewide
protocols,
pursuant
to
a
pharmacist’s
order
and
consistent
with
the
practice
of
the
profession
of
a
registered
nurse
as
defined
in
section
152.1,
without
obtaining
a
registration
from
the
board.
