Section
1.
Section
321.189,
Code
2020,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
10.
Emergency
contact
information.
At
3
the
time
of
application
for,
replacement
of,
or
renewal
of
4
a
driver’s
license,
the
department
shall
collect
from
the
5
licensee
the
names,
telephone
numbers,
and
addresses
of
6
persons
to
be
contacted
if
the
licensee
is
involved
in
an
7
emergency
situation.
The
department
shall
record
the
collected
8
information
in
the
electronic
database
used
by
the
department
9
and
law
enforcement
to
access
registration,
titling,
and
10
driver’s
license
information.

This
bill
requires
the
department
of
transportation
to,

at
the
time

licensee

addresses
of
persons
to
be
contacted

if
the
licensee
is
involved
in
an
emergency

and

said

database

to

registration,

information.
