Code
2022,
is
amended
by
adding

the
following
new
subsection:

The
commission
shall
authorize
a
person

hunting
turkey
with
a
license
that
authorizes
the
use
of
a

shotgun
to
use
a
caliber
.410
shotgun
or
a
28-gauge
shotgun.

shotgun
used
for
hunting

shall
only
shoot
tungsten
shot
not
smaller
than
shot

This
bill
relates
to
shotguns
that
may
be
used
to
hunt

turkey.
Under
current
rules,
a
person
may
hunt
turkey
during

certain
times
of
the
year
using
a
shotgun
that
is
not
smaller
14
than
20-gauge.
The
bill
requires
the
commission
to
authorize
a
15
person
hunting
turkey
with
a
license
that
authorizes
the
use
of
16
a
shotgun
to
use
a
caliber
.410
shotgun
or
a
28-gauge
shotgun,

which
are
both
smaller
than
20-gauge,
shooting
tungsten
shot
