1.
Section
135.185,
subsection
1,
paragraph
b,
Code

2020,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

b.
“Facility”
means
a
food
establishment
as
defined
in

section
137F.1
,
a
carnival
as
defined
in
section
88A.1
,
a
child
4
care
facility
as
defined
in
section
237A.1,
a
recreational
5
camp,
a
youth
sports
facility,
or
a
sports
arena.

AUTO-INJECTOR
SUPPLIES.
The

department
of
human
services
shall
adopt
rules
pursuant
to
9
chapter
17A
to
implement
and
administer
this
Act,
including
but
10
not
limited
to
standards
and
procedures
for
the
prescription,
11
distribution,
storage,
replacement,
and
administration
of
12
epinephrine
auto-injectors,
and
for
training
and
authorization
13
to
be
required
for
personnel
authorized
to
administer
14
epinephrine.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
17
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
child
care
facilities
and
epinephrine
19
auto-injector
supplies.

The
bill
amends
the
definition
of
“facility”
for
purposes
21
of
Code
section
135.185,
which
allows
a
facility
to
obtain
a
22
prescription
for
epinephrine
auto-injectors
and
maintain
a
23
supply
of
such
auto-injectors
in
a
secure
location
for
use
as
24
provided
in
the
Code
section
to
include
a
child
care
facility
25
as
defined
in
Code
section
237A.1.
Personnel
authorized
to
26
administer
epinephrine
may
provide
or
administer
an
epinephrine
27
auto-injector
from
the
facility’s
supply
to
an
individual
28
present
at
the
facility
if
such
personnel
reasonably
and
in
29
good
faith
believe
the
individual
is
having
an
anaphylactic
30
reaction.

The
bill
requires
the
department
of
human
services
to
adopt
32
rules
pursuant
to
Code
chapter
17A
to
implement
and
administer
33
the
bill,
including
but
not
limited
to
standards
and
procedures

for
the
prescription,
distribution,
storage,
replacement,
and
