HEALTH
CARE
COSTS.
The
department
of
administrative
services,
2
consistent
with
applicable
collective
bargaining
agreements,
3
shall
adopt
policies
and
cost
savings
strategies
to
reduce
the
4
increase
of
health
care
costs
while
maintaining
adequate
health
5
care
coverage
for
state
employees.
Policies
and
strategies
6
adopted
should
aid
employees
in
making
the
best
health
care
7
choices
for
the
money
and
should,
if
possible,
require
state
8
employees
selecting
more
expensive
health
care
choices
to
pay
a
9
greater
share
of
the
cost.
The
department
may
also
consider
10
the
use
of
incentives
to
lower
the
state’s
health
care
benefit
11
costs.

EXPLANATION

This
bill
directs
the
department
of
administrative
services,
14
consistent
with
applicable
collective
bargaining
agreements,
15
to
adopt
policies
and
cost
savings
strategies
to
reduce
the
16
increase
of
health
care
costs
while
maintaining
adequate
health

coverage
for
state
employees.
