  2 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1  1    Section 1.  REPEAL.  Sections 904.203, 904.204, 904.205, and
  1  2 904.206, Code 2017, are repealed.
  1  3                           EXPLANATION
  1  4 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1  5 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1  6    This bill repeals provisions relating to correctional
  1  7 institution utilization.
  1  8    The bill repeals a provision requiring that the Rockwell
  1  9 City correctional institution be utilized as a medium security
  1 10 correctional facility for men.
  1 11    The bill repeals a provision requiring that the Mount
  1 12 Pleasant correctional facility be utilized as a medium security
  1 13 facility for men primarily for treatment of inmates who exhibit
  1 14 treatable personality disorders, with or without accompanying
  1 15 history of drug or alcohol abuse.
  1 16    The bill repeals a provision requiring that the Clarinda
  1 17 correctional facility be utilized as a secure men's
  1 18 correctional facility primarily for offenders with chemical
  1 19 dependence, an intellectual disability, or mental illness.
  1 20    The bill repeals a provision specifying that the Newton
  1 21 correctional facility may include a minimum security facility
  1 22 and a violator facility.
