  1  1    Section 1.  Section 321I.10, subsection 3, Code 2017, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    3.  Cities may designate streets under the jurisdiction of
  1  4 cities within their respective corporate limits, including
  1  5 primary road extensions with a speed limit of fifty=five
  1  6 miles per hour or less over which a city exercises concurrent
  1  7 jurisdiction pursuant to section 306.4, which may be used for
  1  8 the operation of registered all=terrain vehicles or registered
  1  9 off=road utility vehicles. In designating such streets, the
  1 10 city may authorize all=terrain vehicles and off=road utility
  1 11 vehicles to stop at service stations or convenience stores
  1 12 along a designated street.
  1 13                           EXPLANATION
  1 14 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1 15 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1 16    Under current law, cities may designate streets under
  1 17 their jurisdiction and within their respective corporate
  1 18 limits to be used for the operation of all=terrain vehicles or
  1 19 off=road utility vehicles. This bill specifies that a city may
  1 20 designate a primary road extension with a speed limit of 55
  1 21 miles per hour or less over which the city exercises concurrent
  1 22 jurisdiction pursuant to Code section 306.4 to be used for the
  1 23 operation of all=terrain vehicles or off=road utility vehicles.
