1.
Section
331.301,
Code
2023,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
22.
A
county
may
establish
a
coyote
bounty

program.
A
county
that
establishes
a
coyote
bounty
program
4
shall
offer
a
ten-dollar
bounty
for
a
coyote
lawfully
taken
5
within
the
county.

Section
331.401,
subsection
3,
Code
2023,
is
amended

to
read
as
follows:

The
board
shall
not
pay
bounties
on
crows,
rattlesnakes,
9
foxes,
or
wolves
,
other
than
but
may
pay
bounties
on
coyotes
10
pursuant
to
section
331.301
.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
authorizes
counties
to
establish
coyote
bounty
15
programs.
Current
law
prohibits
a
county
board
of
supervisors
16
from
paying
a
bounty
on
crows,
rattlesnakes,
foxes,
or
wolves,
17
but
a
board
of
supervisors
may
pay
a
bounty
on
coyotes.
The
18
bill
requires
a
county
that
establishes
a
coyote
bounty
program
19
to
offer
a
$10
bounty
for
a
coyote
lawfully
taken
within
the
20
county.
