read
as

a
defendant
who
was
twenty-five
years
of
age
or

younger
at
the
time
of
the
offense,
and
if
the
offense
did
not

involve
a
serious
injury,
as
defined
in
section
702.18,
to
any

person
other
than
to
the
defendant
.

this

constitute

This
bill
relates
to
the
expungement
of
an

operating-while-intoxicated
(OWI)
offense
that
is
a
serious

misdemeanor
under
certain
circumstances.

Current
law
does
not
allow
the
expungement
of
a
conviction
15
under
Code
section
321J.2.
The
bill
provides
that
a
conviction
16
under
Code
section
321J.2
that
is
a
serious
misdemeanor
shall
17
not
be
expunged
except
for
a
conviction
involving
a
defendant
18
who
was
25
years
of
age
or
younger
at
the
time
of
the
offense,
19
and
the
offense
did
not
involve
a
serious
injury,
as
defined
in
20
Code
section
702.18,
to
any
person
other
than
to
the
defendant.
