amended
to
read
as
follows:

Only
a
marriage
between
a
male
and
a
female
is
valid.

The
supreme
court
shall
not
have
appellate
jurisdiction
over

the
laws
determining
the
validity
of
a
marriage
in
the
state.

EXPLANATION

This
bill
amends
the
marriage
statute
(Code
chapter
595)

specifying
that
only
a
marriage
between
a
man
and
a
woman
8
is
valid
to
provide
that
the
supreme
court
shall
not
have
9
appellate
jurisdiction
over
the
laws
determining
the
validity
10
of
a
marriage
in
the
state.
