to
provide
child
care
as
a

development
home

chapter

except
as
authorized
provided
under
section

means

that
may
provide
child
care
to

six
or
more
children
at
any
one
time
.

subsection
1,
Code
2021,
is
amended

read
as
follows:

at

one
time
is
a
child
care
home
provider
and

is
not
required
to
register
under
section
237A.3A
as
a
child

development
home
.
However,
unless
the
person
providing
the

child
care
or
operating
the
program
may
register
as
a
child

development
home
is
a
parent,
aunt,
uncle,
grandparent,
or

adult
sibling
of
a
child
receiving
child
care
from
the
person
19
or
program
.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requires
child
care
homes
to
register
as
child

development
homes
and
provides
exceptions.

The
bill
changes
the
definition
of
“child
care
home”
to
26
a
person
or
program
providing
child
care
to
five
or
fewer
27
children
at
any
one
time
that
is
registered
to
provide
child
28
care
under
this
Code
chapter,
except
as
authorized
under
Code
29
section
237A.3.
The
bill
makes
a
conforming
change
to
the
30
definition
of
“child
development
home”.

The
bill
requires
a
child
care
home
to
register
as
a
child
32
development
home
unless
the
person
providing
the
child
care
or
33
operating
the
program
is
a
parent,
aunt,
uncle,
grandparent,
or

adult
sibling
of
a
child
receiving
child
care
from
the
person
