A Resolution honoring the life and service of
Representative John Landon.
WHEREAS, Representative John Robert Landon was born
near State Center, Iowa, in 1950; and
WHEREAS, Representative Landon served in the United
States naval construction battalion, the Navy Seabees,
during the Vietnam Conflict; and
WHEREAS, after receiving an honorable discharge,
Representative Landon graduated with a degree in
agribusiness from Iowa State University; and

WHEREAS, Representative Landon worked diligently for
nearly 40 years in agricultural real estate and farm
management before running for state office; and
WHEREAS, Representative Landon faithfully served the
people of Iowa as a state representative for over eight
years; and
WHEREAS, Representative Landon was a central part
of his community as a cub scout leader, a boy scout
leader, and a deacon and a stewardship committee leader
for his church; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, That
the Iowa House of Representatives honors the life and
service of Representative John Landon and recognizes
Representative Landon’s spirit, integrity, and work
ethic as emblematic of the values of this state; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this
Resolution be distributed to Representative Landon’s
wife, Marvis Landon.
