Iowa
State
University,
one

America’s

greatest
land-grant
universities,
has
become
even
more

preeminent
under
the
leadership
of
President
Gregory

L.
Geoffroy;
and

WHEREAS,
in
2001,
Dr.
Geoffroy
capped
an
already
8
distinguished
academic
career
as
a
professor
of

chemistry,
department
head,
and
college
dean,

by
assuming
the
post
of
President
of
Iowa
State
11
University;
and
12
WHEREAS,
in
the
following
decade,
President
13
Geoffroy
has
led
Iowa
State
in
its
quest
to
be
the
best
14
university
in
the
nation
by
advancing
the
land-grant
15
values
of
education,
research,
and
service,
and
putting
16
science
and
technology
to
work;
and
17
WHEREAS,
in
only
ten
years,
President
Geoffroy
has

led
the
university
to
some
incredible
achievements

including:

enrollments
including
an
all-time
high
of

in
2011.

sponsored
funding

million
