University

women’s
basketball
team
defeated
the
University
of

to
become
the
2024
National
Association

of
Intercollegiate
Athletics
(NAIA)
national

champions;
and

WHEREAS,
the
Dordt
University
women’s
basketball
8
team
spent
11
weeks
of
the
season
ranked
first
in
the
9
country
and
ended
the
season
with
a
program-best
35-2
10
record;
and
11
WHEREAS,
Macy
Sievers
was
named
the
most
valuable
12
player
of
the
NAIA
women’s
national
championship
13
tournament
by
averaging
12.6
points,
6.8
assists,
6.3
14
rebounds,
and
2.8
steals
per
game;
and
15
WHEREAS,
Karly
Gustafson
was
given
first-team
16
all-tournament
honors
and
concluded
her
final
season

with
program
records
for
career
points
(1,976)
and

career
rebounds
(1,099);
and

WHEREAS,
Janie
Schoonhoven
received
second-team

all-tournament
honors
and
was
awarded
the

RESOLVED
BY

HOUSE
OF
REPRESENTATIVES,

Representatives
honors

basketball
team
for
their

achievement
as

national
champions;
and

BE
IT
FURTHER
RESOLVED,
That
upon
adoption,
the

Representatives

resolution
