WHEREAS,
in
2003
Congress
enacted
the
Do-Not-Call

Implementation
Act
of
2003;
and
5
WHEREAS,
under
the
Act
the
entry
of
a
telephone
6
number
on
the
National
Do
Not
Call
Registry
will
stop
7
most,
but
not
all,
unsolicited
telephone
calls;
and
8
WHEREAS,
calls
from
political
organizations
are
9
exempt
from
this
restriction;
and
10
WHEREAS,
this
omission
is
a
glaring
loophole
in
the
11
law;
NOW
THEREFORE,
12
BE
IT
RESOLVED
BY
THE
HOUSE
OF
REPRESENTATIVES,

That
the
House
of
Representatives
urges
the
members
of
14
Iowa’s
congressional
delegation
to
support
legislation
15
including
political
organizations
within
the
scope
of
16
the
National
Do
Not
Call
Registry.
