College

Tennessee,
and
three
seasons
at
Fancy
Farm
High
School

in
Fancy
Farm,
Kentucky;
and

WHEREAS,
Pilcher
is
not
only
Iowa
Central’s
longest
11
tenured
coach,
but
he
also
served
as
Iowa
Central’s
12
athletic
director
from
1990
to
2010;
and
13
WHEREAS,
Pilcher
has
the
12th
most
victories
14
nationally
all-time
among
junior
college
head
coaches

with
856
wins
(759
wins
at
Iowa
Central);
and

WHEREAS,
Pilcher
led
Iowa
Central
to
two
National

Junior
College
Athletic
Association
(NJCAA)
tournament

appearances;
and

WHEREAS,
Pilcher
has
coached
four
first-team
All

Americans,
an
honor
recognizing
exceptional
basketball

players;
and

Pilcher

two-time
Region

NJCAA

the
Year;

Pilcher

the

Pilcher’s

Athletic
Administrator
Cups,
which

awarded
annually
to
the
nation’s
top
two-year

athletic
department

on
team
finishes
at
national

tournaments;

on
February
22,
2013,
Iowa
Central
honored

Pilcher
by
dedicating
and
naming
the
basketball
court

inside
Hodges
Fieldhouse,
located
on
Iowa
Central’s

campus,
the
Dennis
Pilcher
Court;
and

WHEREAS,
in
March
of
2019,
Pilcher
officially

announced
his
retirement,
ending
a
career
spanning
five

decades
of
coaching
basketball
and
being
involved
in

college
athletics;

That

Representatives
recognizes
and
honors

Dennis
Pilcher
for
his
illustrious
career
