WHEREAS,
all
children
in
Iowa
should
have
the
right

to
the
highest-quality
schools
possible;
and

WHEREAS,
citizens
across
Iowa
agree
that
improving
5
the
quality
of
education
in
Iowa
and
expanding
access
6
to
great
schools
should
be
an
issue
of
importance
to
7
our
state’s
leaders;
and
8
WHEREAS,
Iowa
has
a
multitude
of
high-quality
9
educational
options
including
public
schools,
nonpublic
10
schools,
charter
schools,
and
home
schooling;
and
11
WHEREAS,
the
vital
cause
of
education
reform
is
12
one
that
transcends
ideology
and
political
party
13
affiliation;
and
14
WHEREAS,
research
in
Iowa
and
across
our
nation
15
demonstrates
conclusively
that
providing
children
16
with
multiple
schooling
options
improves
academic
17
performance;
NOW
THEREFORE,

BE
IT
RESOLVED
BY
THE
HOUSE
OF
REPRESENTATIVES,
That

the
House
of
Representatives
recognizes
the
week
of
20
January
23
through
January
29,
2011,
as
school
choice

week
in
the
State
of
Iowa,
and
calls
this
recognition

to
the
attention
of
all
Iowans.
