S.F. _____ H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 15.271, subsection 1, paragraph e, Code 1 2019, is amended to read as follows: 2 e. A program shall be established to plan, acquire, develop, 3 promote, operate, and maintain a variety of welcome centers 4 at strategic locations to meet the needs of travelers in the 5 state. The program is intended to be accomplished by 1992. 6 Sec. 2. Section 15.271, subsection 2, unnumbered paragraph 7 1, Code 2019, is amended to read as follows: 8 The primary goals of a statewide program for welcome centers 9 are to provide travel-related services and tourism information 10 to travelers the following: . 11 Sec. 3. Section 15.271, subsection 2, paragraphs a, b, and 12 c, Code 2019, are amended by striking the paragraphs. 13 Sec. 4. Section 15.272, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 2019, 14 is amended to read as follows: 15 1. The state agencies, as indicated in this section , 16 authority shall undertake certain specific functions to 17 implement the goals of a statewide program, including the pilot 18 projects, for establish and administer a statewide welcome 19 centers center program . The authority shall collaborate 20 with other state agencies as necessary to coordinate the 21 operation of such welcome centers and to provide information 22 to travelers. 23 Sec. 5. Section 15.272, subsection 1, Code 2019, is amended 24 by striking the subsection. 25 Sec. 6. Section 15.272, subsection 2, unnumbered paragraph 26 1, Code 2019, is amended to read as follows: 27 The responsibilities of the authority include the following: 28 shall operate, manage, and maintain all state-owned and 29 state-operated welcome centers, including the provision of 30 travel-related services, and the collection and distribution 31 of tourism information. 32 Sec. 7. Section 15.272, subsection 2, paragraphs a, b, c, d, 33 and e, Code 2019, are amended by striking the paragraphs. 34 EXPLANATION 35 -1- LSB 1283DP (3) 88 ko/tm 1/ 2
