Section
135B.7,
Code
2011,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

SUBSECTION

3A.
The
rules
shall
require
that
a
hospital

establish
and
implement
written
criteria
to
allow
individual
4
advanced
registered
nurse
practitioners
to
obtain
admitting
5
privileges
without
a
collaborating
physician.

EXPLANATION

As
part
of
the
licensing
requirements
for
hospitals,
this
8
bill
requires
that
the
department
of
inspections
and
appeals
9
adopt
rules
that
require
hospitals
to
establish
and
implement
10
written
criteria
to
allow
individual
advanced
registered
11
nurse
practitioners
to
obtain
admitting
privileges
without
a
12
collaborating
physician.
