codified
at

U.S.C.
§2301
et
seq.,
as
amended,

and
rules
adopted
by
the
state
board,
including
career
and

technical
student
organizations
related
to
robotics
and
9
robotics
teams
and
competitions.

Section
256.11,
subsection
5,
paragraph
h,
11
subparagraph
(1),
subparagraph
division
(c),
Code
2023,
is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

Applied
sciences,
technology,
engineering,
and

manufacturing,
including
transportation,
distribution,

logistics,
architecture,
and
construction
,
and
robotics
.

organization
that
receives
moneys
from
a
school

district
to
pay
dues
or
membership
fees,
or
moneys
from
a

the
state
to
pay
dues
or

membership
fees,
may
sponsor
or
administer
interscholastic

contests
or
competitions
related
to
robotics.
For
purposes
23
of
this
section,
“organization”
means
the
same
as
defined
in
24
section
280.13.

2.
This
section
shall
not
be
construed
to
prohibit
26
an
organization
from
sponsoring
or
administering
other
27
interscholastic
contests
or
competitions.

and

areas
curriculum
provided

students
enrolled

districts
and

schools
to

that
robotics
may
be
taught
in
the
applied
sciences,

technology,
engineering,
and
manufacturing
area.

The
bill
provides
that
high
school
athletic
organizations

to

from
