Senate File 2046 - Introduced SENATE FILE BY RAGAN A BILL FOR 1 An Act appropriating funds for a supported employment provider 2 rate increase, and including effective date and retroactive 3 applicability provisions. 4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: TLSB 5599XS (1) 86 pf/rn PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. 2015 Iowa Acts, chapter 137, section 29, 1 2 subsection 1, is amended by adding the following new paragraph: 1 3 NEW PARAGRAPH. t. Beginning January 1, 2016, the 1 4 reimbursement rates for providers of supported employment under 1 5 the medical assistance program shall be increased by 20 percent 1 6 over the rates in effect on June 30, 2015. 1 7 Sec. 2. 2015 Iowa Acts, chapter 137, section 149, subsection 1 8 1, is amended by adding the following new paragraph: 1 9 NEW PARAGRAPH. t. For the fiscal year beginning July 1 10 1, 2016, the reimbursement rates for providers of supported 1 11 employment under the medical assistance program shall remain at 1 12 the rates in effect on June 30, 2016. 1 13 Sec. 3. EFFECTIVE UPON ENACTMENT. This Act, being deemed of 1 14 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment. 1 15 Sec. 4. RETROACTIVE APPLICABILITY. This Act applies 1 16 retroactively to July 1, 2015. 1 17 EXPLANATION 1 18 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 1 19 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. 1 20 This bill provides for an increase in the reimbursement 1 21 rates for providers of supported employment under the medical 1 22 assistance program for FY 2015=2016, of 20 percent over the 1 23 rates in effect on June 30, 2015. The bill also provides that 1 24 these reimbursement rates for FY 2016=2017 would remain at the 1 25 increased rates. 1 26 The bill takes effect upon enactment and is retroactively 1 27 applicable to July 1, 2015.
