  1  1    Section 1.  Section 483A.24, subsection 2, paragraph d, Code
  1  2 2016, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    d.  In addition to the free deer hunting licenses received
  1  4 pursuant to paragraph "c", an owner of a farm unit or a
  1  5 member of the owner's family and the tenant or a member of the
  1  6 tenant's family may purchase a deer hunting license for any
  1  7 option offered to paying deer hunting licensees. An owner of a
  1  8 farm unit or a member of the owner's family and the tenant or a
  1  9 member of the tenant's family may also purchase two additional
  1 10 antlerless deer hunting licenses which are valid only on the
  1 11 farm unit for a fee of ten dollars each.  The reduced=fee deer
  1 12 hunting licenses issued pursuant to this paragraph shall be
  1 13 valid and may be used during any deer hunting season.
  1 14                           EXPLANATION
  1 15 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1 16 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1 17    This bill provides that when an owner or tenant of a
  1 18 farm unit or a member of that person's family purchases a
  1 19 reduced=fee antlerless deer hunting license for use on that
  1 20 person's farm unit, the license may be used to hunt deer during
  1 21 any deer hunting season. Currently, such reduced=fee licenses
  1 22 are valid during only one specified deer hunting season.
