1.
The
board
of
directors
of
a
school
district
shall
require

their
respective
schools
to
display
on
each
identification
card

the
school
issues,
if
any,
to
students
in
grades
six
through
13
twelve,
the
three-digit
number
adopted
by
the
department
of
14
human
services
that
the
student
may
call
or
text
to
obtain
15
suicide
prevention
services.

The
authorities
in
charge
of
each
accredited
nonpublic
17
school
are
encouraged
to
display
on
each
identification
card
18
the
school
issues,
if
any,
to
students
in
grades
six
through
19
twelve,
the
three-digit
number
adopted
by
the
department
of

human
services
that
the
student
may
call
or
text
to
obtain
21
suicide
prevention
services.

APPLICABILITY.
This
Act
applies
to
the
first
23
school
year
beginning
at
least
one
year
after
the
department
24
of
human
services
makes
available
to
the
public
telephone
and
25
text
services
for
suicide
prevention
services
via
a
three-digit
26
number
and
each
succeeding
school
year.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
suicide
prevention
hotline
information

on
student
identification
cards.

The
bill
directs
the
board
of
regents
to
require
each

institution
of
higher
learning
governed
by
the
board
that

cards
to
students
to
include

each
