AND
MAKING
PENALTIES
APPLICABLE.

IT
ENACTED
BY
THE
GENERAL
ASSEMBLY
OF
THE
STATE
OF
IOWA:
Section
1.
Section
714.9,
Code
2014,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:
714.9
Fraudulent
practice
in
the
first
degree.
1.
Fraudulent
practice
in
the
first
degree
is
a
fraudulent
practice
where
the
amount
of
money
or
value
of
property
or
services
involved
exceeds
ten
thousand
dollars.
2.
Fraudulent
practice
in
the
first
degree
is
a
class
āCā
felony.
Sec.
2.
Section
714.11,
subsection
1,
paragraph
a,
Code
2014,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:
a.
A
fraudulent
practice
where
the
amount
of
money
or
value
of
property
or
service
services
involved
exceeds
five
hundred
dollars
but
does
not
exceed
one
thousand
dollars.
Sec.
3.
Section
714.14,
Code
2014,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:
714.14
Value
for
purposes
of
fraudulent
practices.
1.
The
value
of
property
or
service
is
its
highest
value
by
any
reasonable
standard
at
the
time
the
fraudulent
practice
is
committed.
Reasonable
standard
includes
but
is
not
limited
to
market
value
within
the
community,
actual
value,
or
replacement
value.
2.
If
money
,
or
property
,
or
a
service
is
obtained
by
involved
in
two
or
more
acts
of
fraudulent
practice
is
from
the
same
person
or
location,
or
from
different
persons
by
two
or
more
acts
which
occur
in
approximately
the
same
location
or
time
period
so
that
the
fraudulent
practices
are
attributable

a
single
scheme,
plan,
or
conspiracy,
these
acts
may
be
considered
as
a
single
fraudulent
practice
and
the
value
may
be
the
total
value
of
all
money,
property,
and
service
involved.
