to
read
as
follows:

(a)
A
graduate
of
an
Iowa
high
school,
or
a
person
who

completed
private
instruction
under
chapter
299A
,
or
a
person
5
who
is
a
recipient
of
a
high
school
equivalency
diploma,
and
6
who
prior
to
becoming
an
adult
learner
enrolls
full-time
or
7
part-time
during
the
academic
year
,
or
part-time
for
a
summer
8
semester
,
in
an
eligible
program
at
an
eligible
institution.

inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
students
who
are
eligible
to
receive
13
a
scholarship
from
the
future
ready
Iowa
skilled
workforce

last-dollar
scholarship
fund.

Current
law
provides
that
certain
students
may
receive
a
16
future
ready
Iowa
skilled
workforce
last-dollar
scholarship
17
from
the
future
ready
Iowa
skilled
workforce
last-dollar
18
scholarship
fund.
The
scholarship
is
intended
to
cover
any
19
remaining
gap
between
federal
and
state
grants
or
scholarships
20
and
tuition
and
certain
fees.
Under
current
law,
among
other
21
people,
an
Iowa
resident
who
is
less
than
20
years
of
age;
22
who
graduated
from
an
Iowa
high
school,
completed
private
23
instruction
under
Code
chapter
299A,
or
received
a
high
school
24
equivalency
diploma;
and
who
prior
to
turning
20
years
of
age
25
enrolls
full-time
during
the
academic
year
or
part-time
during
26
the
summer
semester
in
an
eligible
program
at
an
eligible
27
institution,
may
receive
a
scholarship
from
the
fund.
Under
28
the
bill,
such
a
person
who
enrolls
part-time
during
the
29
academic
year
is
also
eligible.
