amended

by
adding
the
following
new
subsection:

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
3A.
Knowingly
misrepresents
or
knowingly

omits
the
person’s
financial
information
on
an
application
for

free
legal
assistance
from
a
nonprofit
legal
aid
organization
5
in
this
state.

EXPLANATION
7
This
bill
provides
that
a
person
who
knowingly
misrepresents
8
or
knowingly
omits
the
person’s
financial
information
on
an
9
application
for
free
legal
assistance
from
a
nonprofit
legal
10
aid
organization
in
this
state
is
guilty
of
a
fraudulent
11
practice.
A
person
guilty
of
a
fraudulent
practice
may
be
12
charged
with
a
simple
misdemeanor,
a
serious
misdemeanor,
13
an
aggravated
misdemeanor,
a
class
“D”
felony,
or
a
class
14
“C”
felony
depending
upon
the
value
of
the
money
or
property
15
involved
at
the
time
the
fraudulent
practice
is
committed.
