NEW
SECTION
.
7.19
Chief
operations
officer.
1
The
governor
shall
appoint,
subject
to
confirmation
by
2
the
senate,
a
chief
operations
officer
who
shall
be
a
part
3
of
the
governor’s
staff
and
who
shall
serve
at
the
pleasure
4
of
the
governor.
The
chief
operations
officer
shall
provide
5
operational
management
and
leadership
of
state
government
6
agencies
to
ensure
the
agencies
are
functioning
effectively
and
7
efficiently.

The
inclusion

this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement

the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
provides
that
the
governor
shall
appoint
a
chief

operations
officer
within
the
office
of
the
governor
subject
to

confirmation
by
the
senate.
The
bill
provides
that
the
chief

operations
officer
shall
provide
operational
management
and
15
leadership
of
state
government
agencies.
