adding

following
new
subsection:

Acknowledges
that
the
physician

performing
a
surgical
or
invasive
procedure
informed
the

patient
of
the
experience
the
physician
has
had
in
performing

the
procedure
including
the
approximate
number
of
times

the
physician
has
performed
the
procedure,
the
protocols
in
7
effect
at
the
time
the
procedure
is
performed,
and
educational
8
background
regarding
the
procedure.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
11
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
a
patient’s
written
consent
to
a
medical
13
or
surgical
procedure.
The
bill
requires
the
written
consent
14
to
acknowledge
that
the
physician
performing
the
procedure
15
has
informed
the
patient
of
the
physician’s
experience
in
16
performing
the
procedure
including
(1)
the
approximate
number
17
of
times
the
physician
has
performed
the
procedure,
(2)
the
18
protocols
in
effect
at
the
time
of
the
procedure,
and
(3)
19
educational
background
regarding
the
procedure.
