Open
season

hunting

doves
and
Eurasian
collared-doves
shall

consecutive

Shooting
hours
shall
be
from
one-half
hour

sunrise

sunset
each
day.
Daily
bag
limit

is
15;
possession
limit
is
30.
The
entire
state
is

open.
No
person
shall
take
a
mourning
dove
or
Eurasian

collared-dove
on
any
land
or
water
of
the
state
of

Iowa
while
having
in
one’s
possession
any

the

EFFECTIVE
DATE.
This
joint
resolution,

being
deemed
of
immediate
importance,
takes
effect
upon

enactment.

joint
resolution
nullifies
571
IAC,
rule

97.6,
fifth
sentence,
in
which
the
natural
resource

commission
prohibits
the
use
of
lead
shot
for
hunting

mourning
doves.
Iowa
Code
sections
481A.38
and
481A.39

authorize
the
natural
resource
commission
to
regulate
22
methods
of
take
in
the
hunting
of
authorized
species.

The
effective
date
of
this
portion
of
the
rule
was
24
delayed
until
the
end
of
the
2012
session
of
the
25
general
assembly
by
the
administrative
rules
review
26
committee
at
its
meeting
on
August
16,
2011.

The
joint
resolution
takes
effect
upon
enactment.
